Daisy is a Paralegal at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP. Since joining the firm in 2021, Daisy has supported our employment-based team with a variety of case types. She graduated from UC San Diego in 2018 with bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish Literature, and in 2021, she received her Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego. Daisy is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and has always been passionate about immigration. She enjoys assisting our clients with their immigration needs and learning about new case types.
Mayra is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. She is a Senior Legal Assistant at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP, having worked for the firm since 2012. Mayra began her journey at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP through first-hand experience, as the relative of clients. She works with our attorneys representing clients in a wide range of immigration matters including removal defense in immigration court, family-based petitions, waivers, and humanitarian remedies, including U visas and petitions under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA.) Although she has worked for Jacobs & Schlesinger for many years, she continues to learn something new every day and loves that her work provides her with the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
Samantha is a supervisory paralegal at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP, having joined the firm in 2021. She primarily works on our employment-based and investor-based cases. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of San Diego. Samantha also completed the paralegal certification program with honors at the University of San Diego School of Law in 2021. Growing up in an immigrant community sparked Samantha’s interest in all immigration matters, with a special interest in the reunification of families.
Perla is the Legal Support Supervisor at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP and a San Diego native. She has been with the firm since March 2012. Perla is a graduate of UCLA with Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Chicano/a Studies. At the firm, she supports our family-based and appellate attorneys with their cases. She has been delighted to work with clients worldwide, including North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. The best part of her job is being able to help families so they can remain together in the U.S, and she hopes to continue to do so for years to come.
Alysha Vazquez is a Legal Clerk at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP and provides support to our family-based, asylum, removal defense, and humanitarian cases. She is committed to helping immigrant individuals and their families navigate the immigration system in a trauma-informed manner.
Alysha graduated from San Diego State University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree, summa cum laude, in Criminal Justice. She received her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2022, with a concentration in International Law. While in law school, she served on the executive board of the California Western International Law Journal and was president of the California Western’s International Law Society. She dedicated her early legal experience to helping survivors of sex and labor trafficking, domestic violence, and child abuse. She also volunteered at the Community Law Project assisting community members in various areas of law including criminal, employment, landlord and tenant, child custody, and divorce law.
She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association, and Latinas in the Law.
Barbara is a Paralegal at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP. She joined the firm in February 2024, starting as a Legal Intern supporting the family-based team while studying at the University of San Diego to earn her Paralegal Certificate. In April 2024, she completed her program with honors and joined the firm as a Paralegal. Barbara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from CETYS University and has been a certified lawyer in Mexico since 2023. Coming from a family of Mexican immigrants, she has always been passionate about Immigration Law. She enjoys helping clients with their immigration matters and making a positive impact on their lives. Barbara hopes to continue learning something new everyday and contributing to the firm’s growth.
Jazmin is the Office Manager at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP. Both of her parents immigrated to the U.S. looking for a better future. Jazmin’s parents are agricultural workers in the Imperial Valley, and she considers their life story her inspiration to help others. Jazmin left her hometown to pursue her education and received her bachelor’s degree with cum laude honors from CSU San Marcos in 2017. In 2019, she received her Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego. She has worked for the firm since November 2017, having started as a Receptionist and working her way up.
Jazmine Cope is the Operations Assistant at Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP. She graduated from SDSU in 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Music Composition. Though not a traditional route, she discovered her interest in the law through music and later enrolled in the paralegal program at USD, where she currently studies. As the daughter of immigrants, Jazmine is eager to learn about immigration law and hopes to create a positive impact on individuals and families seeking immigration services.
Lorena Lopez grew up in a small town outside of Mexico City before moving to the United States. She attended the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico before moving to San Diego and receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from San Diego State University. Lorena brings many years of experience to the firm and feels very happy to have joined as the Financial Manager. She looks forward to continuing to grow with the team and being a great asset to the firm.
Pedro Adame is the Legal Receptionist at Jacobs and Schlesinger LLP. He recently graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor in Political Science in Public Law and is currently preparing to go to Law School by 2024. Pedro is a Los Angeles native but came to San Diego to study and is excited to continue his journey down the legal path. He is grateful to have the opportunity to see immigration attorney’s at work and is excited to learn more on the job as he continues working with us.
