We have particular expertise in the overlap between criminal and immigration laws and frequently assist our clients and their criminal defense attorneys with crafting plea deals to avoid negative immigration consequences.

Schedule: M-F: 8:00am-4:30pm
Probationary Period: 45 days

Job Duties:
- Draft, distribute, follow-up on, and execute fee and billing agreements;
- Serve as primary client liaison regarding billing matters;
- Receive and record client payments;
- Administer automatic monthly billing arrangements;
- Verify the validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from the legal and operations staff, and clients;
- Follow-up on past due accounts;
- Issue collections referrals;
- Assist other finance areas such as accounts payable;
- Research and negotiate chargeback claims;
- Prepare regular & on-demand reports for managers and partners related to client retention and accounts receivable;
- Work with the Operations Manager to develop policy and procedure related to legal billing;
- Serve as primary back-up for firm reception;
- Assist the Operations Manager and firm partners with other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in Social Justice.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, initiate and manage projects, prioritize, and perform a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision and maximum efficiency.
- Motivation, enthusiasm, creativity, willingness to learn and positive team player approach a must.
- Can-do attitude, ability to troubleshoot effectively and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Special Consideration to Candidates with:
- B.A. or A.A.
- College level accounting coursework
- Two years or more experience in an accounts receivable/accounting position.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity for operating a computer keyboard & mouse, printer, facsimile machine, and photocopier.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit at a desk or conference table for extended periods of time within an office environment.
- Ability to travel up to a half mile on a sidewalk.
