Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Zakk received a B.S. in Public Safety Management from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis in 2015. Upon graduation, he moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he worked as a construction safety advisor to American Electric & Power. In 2017, Zakk decided to make a career change and pursue his longstanding dream of becoming an immigration attorney. That fall he moved to San Diego, California, and began attending California Western School of Law (CWSL). While in law school, Zakk served as the president of CWSL’s Immigration Law Society and interned at various immigration law firms in the San Diego area. Zakk joined Jacobs & Schlesinger in the fall of 2019 as a legal intern during his last semester of law school. After graduation, he continued on with the J&S team as a post-bar law clerk and, upon passing the CA bar exam, was promoted to associate attorney. Zakk handles both employment-based and family-based immigration cases, as well as assisting on some appellate work. Zakk is admitted to the State Bar of California and is licensed to practice law before the Department of Homeland Security nationwide.
