Mark C. Ople
Mark C. Ople received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall in 1995 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Philosophy from Yale University in 1989. Mr. Ople clerked for Gray Cary Ware & Friedenrich (currently DLA Piper) in San Diego. He subsequently practiced employment and labor law at Stricker & Ball in San Diego. Prior to opening his own immigration law firm in 2004, he practiced immigration law with a well-established immigration firm in San Diego for seven years, specializing in employment-based immigration law, as well as family-based immigration, asylum, and other related immigration areas.
Mr. Ople joined Jacobs & Schlesinger in 2008. His primary focus is employment-based immigration for the high-technology industry, including the biotechnology, engineering, computer design, and telecommunications sectors. He represents U.S. companies as well as foreign nationals who desire to work in the U.S. with nonimmigrant employment visas, including E, H, L, P, TN, and O visas, as well as those applying for permanent resident/immigrant visas ("green cards").
Mr. Ople is a member of a number of legal and professional associations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego County Chamber of Commerce Legal and International Border Committees, the U.S.-Mexico Border Platform/Caucus Committee, and the California Western Community Law Project. Mr. Ople has extensive experience working closely with officials of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and is a member of the California State Bar.
